To the small boutique without the benefit of mannequins, try a fashion story board.
Pin boards effectively carry the message of a completed outfit. How to accessorize often stops the sale. Visually finish the coordinated outfit for your customer on a creative display board.
Assemble your story line of products. Collect supporting accessory items that complete the ensemble such as belt, bangles, scarf, handbag, shoes etc.
Purchase a large piece of Foamcore or display board, cut to size, cover with fabric and secure it against the wall or other support. T-pins and fine wire work well to hold items onto the board.
Using the board as your canvas, create a visual storyboard. Pin the main item first, starting at the top. Begin with the shoulders, then the waistline, then the hem. Build a line that makes the garment flow for more drama.
Your pin board is now ready to group the accessories that add zing. Place them on the board around the main item in small tasteful groupings.
Finish with appropriate signing...what's new or a stylish tip.
